Before we jump into the recipe, it’s important to know where Matcha comes from. Matcha powder is made up of compressed green tea leaves after they’ve been deveined and stone ground. The results are sweeter than steeped green tea and extra concentrated with antioxidants.
This Matcha Almond Smoothie is full of energy, antioxidants, fresh flavor and a rich boost of nutrients.
Prep time: 10 minutes. Cook time: 5 minutes
1 ½ cup coconut milk refrigerated overnight
½ cup cold almond milk or coconut water
1 ½ tablespoon matcha green tea powder (depending on your taste)
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
2 dates, chopped
1 ripe banana frozen or cold
1 small handful baby spinach
2 tablespoons almond butter
pinch of salt
Take ½ cup of coconut milk, half of the almond milk or coconut water, the matcha powder, vanilla, dates, banana, spinach, almond butter, and salt, add everything onto your blender.
Blend for 1 or 2 minutes, it should turn out with a smooth consistency.
If you think it’s too thick, add the rest of the almond milk or coconut water.
Serve immediately and Enjoy! 😀
