Learn How to cook asparagus in the oven. I love cooking asparagus in the oven because it brings out such a rich flavor. Because of how crispy the spears get.

Asparagus is a great side dish to any meal. There a few ways on how to cook asparagus. There are easy recipes, depending on how you accompany them, but the general understanding of how asparagus is cooked is rather straightforward.

Asparagus can be a bit pricey sometimes, depending on the season you get them in. August is the best month to get asparagus.

My favorite way to cook asparagus is roasted. They get a nice crisp, because of its natural sugars, with the heat it gets almost caramelized. Delicious!

The best part of it all is that asparagus do not take long to cook at all. This way of cooking them, in particular, takes a little over 10 minutes at high heat. It really is super easy. It is in the oven, but it won’t take as long as you think it might. I was skeptical at first, but I tried it and it works great. And it honestly is my favorite way to cook them.

My main advice for this recipe is to be careful not to overcook them. Because they will get saggy or the spears might burn and will lose their crispy and tasty appeal.

But don’t be afraid to go for it. I did, and it turned out brilliant. There are scarier things to cook out there :D.

I’ve made them for my family and even the kids who are so picky about greens have liked. I’m not promising they will work miracles on the pickiest child or adult lol, but they are so good and healthy; which is always my main focus. And it takes less than 15 minutes to cook. I would say it’s definitely worth the try.

How to Cook Asparagus

Recipe Time

Baked or Roasted Asparagus

Ingredients:

1 pound of Asparagus

Olive oil

Sea Salt

How to cook the Asparagus

First, wash your asparagus. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Trim the edges of the asparagus off, make sure you cut off all of the hard ends. Get a tray you can get in the oven and cover it with foil or parchment paper. Place your asparagus on the tray covered with the paper or foil. Drizzle the asparagus lightly with the olive oil and the sea salt. If you want to add extra taste to it, you can cut a couple of cherry tomatoes on top of the asparagus.

That’s it. Remember to not overcook them. Check them at exact 10 minutes, they should be tender with crispy spears. Let them sit for a couple minutes and serve.
